Any idea on when SF10 is going to be officially released?

At some point, the codebase will be frozen so that there can be some final testing. But right now some commits are still added, others are postponed for after the release. Some final checking will have to be done. For instance, I read somewhere that the makefile seems to not support 32 bit makes anymore. It has to be decided if that is still supportable. I think it was somewhere in Uri's thread about his project in the programming subforum.

Didn't Stephane do a preparation commit on the 19th?

Thanks Alan!

Meanwhile, official Stockfish 10 has arrived :) Thanks to Stéphane and Marco especially as the current maintainers.
Stockfish 10

Official release version of Stockfish 10.

This is also the 10th anniversary version of the Stockfish project, which
started exactly ten years ago! I wish to extend a huge thank you to
all contributors and authors in our amazing community :-)

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

I compile a version setting contempt=0 and then put it up on my website. Currently using GCC 8.1 / MinGW on a Win 8.1 box.

Two questions:

1. Is the 32 bit compile currently broken?
2. Any tips for best compile practices besides profile-build?

Sorry if I'm misstating words / terms. Not a technical wizard, just trying to make tools useful for my needs!

I'll let somebody else answer that as I don't know any tips and not sure on #1.

If it does get updated, it will likely have the Abrok.eu compile, unless somebody produces something significantly faster.

Cfish has not been updated for 12 days, so there is no Cfish 10 yet. I'm sure Ronald will get to this when time permits.
