interesting position

Post by jdart »

This is from one of Andreas Strangmueller's matches:

[d]2rqkb1r/1pp1p1pp/1p3p2/1N1P4/5B2/5Q2/PP3PPP/n1R3K1 w k - 0 17

White (Fizbo 2) played Nxc7+ and won from here, but it looks to me that Qg4 might have been an even stronger move. This is quite a complex position though.

Some analysis:

Hello Jon,

Good testposition, it appears that you are correct that 17. Qg4 is also winning, Kaissa sees three winning moves now. 17. Na7 can transpose after 17... Ra8 18. Nb5 Rc8 but Kaissa sees a different PV after a while, so that move is not a complete transposition with 17. Nxc7+

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

IMHO, the scores are too much close to make a good test position :

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
