Did Ingo Bauer take a break from Chess
I have been waiting for Ingo Bauer to give Stockfish 10 a rating but seems like he is on a break as no mention on his website about Stockfish 10. Does anybody know if he stopped testing chess engines?

Send him a question from his comments tab.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

He hasn't tested any of the "new generation" engines (AKA Ethereal, Xiphos, Schooner, etc) so I guess he's busy or just lost interest.

He has not responded to my query on his website, I hope he is well and not lost interest in testing chess engines.

Hi,
from times to times a break is good.
So far computer chess is very boring ... to many Alpha zero news.
One time per months is enough for reading that or other chess fora in my opinion.
It would be better to added topics like alpha zero or stockfish in a subforum.
So it's more easy to find the interesting news.
A lot of persons I know dislike allways the same and like it to make a break for the moment.
Same in times all the IPP's are available, so ... it's allways the same with computer chess.
Such situation are in my opinion more bad als good!
Best

I agree with Frank here.Frank Quisinsky wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 9:46 am Hi,

Although A0/Leela/SF News can be very interesting, I think it's better to have its own subforum at least for NN engines.
Some members like amateur (read: weak ) engines just for fun, testing, training etc - and it can be very tough to wade through all the Leela/SF/A0 threads looking for something relevant to these "weaker" engines.
Even a sub-forum for sub-3000 engines would be useful in the modern age.
Anyway, back to my work.

CEGT has almost same conditions than Ingo:
5'+3" ponder on 1th +69 for SF10
5'+3" ponder on 1th +69 for SF10

Maybe laying in the gutter. And now it's freezing outside. Do/did stockfish developers get any money.CMCanavessi wrote: ↑Thu Dec 13, 2018 3:51 am He hasn't tested any of the "new generation" engines (AKA Ethereal, Xiphos, Schooner, etc) so I guess he's busy or just lost interest.
And how do they pay the rent.

No need to worry about Ingo's testing abilities. He has only been using single core machine for his tests.... nothing too extreme like you think he did...

I too hope Ingo is well and has not lost interest in maintaining his list.
That said I would not be surprised if being well required forgetting about computer chess once in a while.
