I ask help to forumers with big machine: please run this 8 positions, 3 best moves, around 200 billions nodes search (around 3 hours at 20 millions nodes/sec) and post the log here.

Bad test positions :

Good test position :
q1r5/k3ppp1/2R5/PP1KP2r/2p4Q/2p1p3/5pP1/3R4 w - - bm Qd4+;

The questions still pending for these positions are :

How to win this position with white ?
2k5/2p5/1q1p4/pPpPp1pp/N1P1Pp2/P4PbP/KQ4P1/8 w - - am Nxb6+?; c1 "diff=10";

Is h3 really drawing ? May be are there other moves to draw for white ?

+ 2 more that gives some chaotic behavior :

Sometimes Rf3 is ahead of Bxh7 :
r1b2rk1/1pq2ppp/p1p1p3/2n1P3/2N2P2/3B4/PPP3PP/R2Q1RK1 w - - bm Bxh7;

Is Rb1 winning ? Or other moves ?
r1b4r/p4pk1/P3p1p1/1pBpPnPp/2pP1K2/2P3P1/4BP2/R6R w - - bm g4;

1.g4 and 1.Rhb1 seems both clearly winning :

Re: Hard-Talkchess-2019 set

Post by Spliffjiffer »

i have this position in my testsuite since 2011 and did always consider it as correct with 1. Bxh7 as best move...i would be surprised if this is incorrect but new times can bring new insights :-)...atm i really doubt that there is sth equally good as 1.Bxh7 !?

I'm convinced that Bxh7+ is the best move here but SF has a strange behavior : eval goes up and down and best move change from Bxh7+ to Rf3 to Bxh7+ to Rf3 to Bxh7+ ... Eval or search seems not correct.

I'm convinced that Bxh7+ is the best move here but SF has a strange behavior : eval goes up and down and best move change from Bxh7+ to Rf3 to Bxh7+ to Rf3 to Bxh7+ ... Eval or search seems not correct.
Sf-dev with default settings (so, in particular, one thread) shows similar behavior until about depth 37. After that, it seems to stay with Bxh7+:

I found an answer here : https://www.stmintz.com/ccc/index.php?id=132574
"Qd2, Kb3, Nc3, Ka4, Na2-c1-b3 and Qxa5 with Black just watching."
But SF thinks this way is only a draw and SF gives a very high score to : 1. Qb3 Qb7 2. b6 Be1 3. Qb5 Kd8 4. Kb3 cxb6 5. Nxb6
and here, 3 best lines are over +5 :

Yes, but the mistake is that black isn't just "watching", they plays a4! somewhere to block the A file.
I didn't spend much time on this but the eval stays around +1 without progress :
