You remind me of the guy crying "look, its a wolf!" so many times and the wolf is not there that I don't beleive it anymore.

I must admit LCO is doing well. If it keeps learning it could be very strong.

(Correction, SF is on 24 threads, 12 cores)

13.5vs 11.5, Elo difference +28 elo +/- 140 elo error bar.
The results reflect the difference in the power of hardware too.
Moreover the short time control is favorable for Leela.
12 cores in not that much.

Agreed but if LCZ is going to be crowned the best chess engine than it has to beat SF on 44 cores in my opinion.

Just a question of time. And soon there will be a lot of new engines using the neural nets without Leelas Zero approach. Maybe Stockfish will come back, maybe new Engines with new ideas will come up.

I guess they will surpass Leela quite fast and computerchess in general will make a very huge step.

Hardware is not the way to go.
Programmers should invest more time in software instead of excessively perverting hardware usage.

Chess is not about hardware. It's about understanding chess.

Du you use a Pentium 66 up to now?
Or even a 286?

very funny.
i do use several computers but my major concern is that the programmers rely too much on todays hardware.

yes i once had a 286-16 mhz.
and my xt before was even slower.
and my home computers before that even slower.

what is the sense of million of million of NPS when these positions are completely irrelevant ?
they are wasted energy.

i am used to observe computerchess hardware that uses software running on 1 mhz machines.

today the machines are faster. but are they more intelligent then the software running on 1 mhz ?
