Minor update to McCain X2 , to fix some 'Play by Elo/Level" coding errors pointed out by Ferdy. Also includes 2 minor patches from Stockfish. New Release is "X2a"

Will post new exe's as soon I have them. It's the weekend , so I'm not sure one I will have them - but I would say the 24 to 48 hours at the latest and perhaps sooner.

Current X2a source can be obtained here:

Will post some exe's tomorrow AM - headed for some sleep right now.

Some exe's are now available for McCain-X2a - minor update to fix some GUI issues with UCI Limit Strength - using levels and play by Elo.

I'm happy to announce FrankWalter 2.3.5 - https://github.com/ljgw/frankwalter/releases/tag/v2.3.5
Laurens, I have a question regarding the newest 2.35 smp release for the XB/UCI chronolgy?
What is the max cores number FrankWalter currently supports?

Kind regards,
Guenther

Thank you for your question Günther!

I only have some 4 core AMD processors, so it's tested with 4,. (And it's an improvement with 4, to be sure) I didn't implement a limit though, so conceivably 128 might also work..

Because of your question I looked at the code to see if there is something to be said about a theoretical max, and I think I discovered a bug! I am unsure if there would be any improvement beyond 4 cores..

- Fixing a bug with evaluation of pair of the knights. The buggy code was evaluating the pair of black kings and the pair of white kings

Strength compared to Igel 1.4.1:

Igel 1.4.2 64 POPCNT vs 1.4.1 64 POPCNT
tc=all/10+0.1
threads=1
hash=1024
book=up to 12 moves for both engines
EGTB=3-4-5 piece
Score of Igel 1.4.2 64 POPCNT vs Igel 1.4.1 64 POPCNT: 1656 - 1236 - 725 [0.558] 3617
Elo difference: 40.53 +/- 10.16

Igel 1.4.2 64 POPCNT vs 1.4.1 64 POPCNT
tc=all/60+0.6
threads=1
hash=1024

Has Neurone 11052018 Dev (aka Neurone XXVII dev) been mentioned anywhere outside of the GSEI web site? I see only XXVI in the CCRL rating list and on the RWBC chronology page. It's not that new (exe dated March 15 2019), but it is new to me.
