Can't I run Lc0 on my GPU?

Post by Ovyron »

Hey, I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE / 7200 GS GPU, I downloaded both GPU-Based Leelas, and both crash.

After running Client.exe to download the weights, the one from windows-opencl shows:

the one from windows-cuda shows:

Is Leela unable to run on my GPU?

Have you tried it just for playing? Have you tried all 3 methods? (CPU; Open CL; CUDA)

I had this issue with a Quadro P600 and (even though everyone told me this would make no difference) - an Nvidia driver update fixed it. Does your GPU support CUDA or is it too old?

I'm sending "go nodes 100" which would make it play a 100 nodes move. But sending "go depth 3" (play a depth 3 move) also makes it crash.

CPU method works.

Thanks, will try updating drivers.

It seems it's too old, so I guess opencl will be my only option for my GPU (even though for a Nvidia GPU they point to the windows-cuda option.)

Hello Ovvyron!
You have a very good GPU database at Techpowerup!
Nvidia Geforce 8800 from 2006 was the first GPU with united shaders and CUDA.
Before they had only pixel shaders and anything but graphics was not possible. AMD Radeon was later in 2008 with Open CL

For low powered gpu and cpu, have a look at the distilled networks.

Fat Titz by Stockfish, the engine with the bodaciously big net. Remember: size matters. If you want to learn more about this engine just google for "Fat Titz".
