Marvin 3.3.0

Post by Martin »

I have just released a new version of Marvin.

1 core: ~30 elo improvement
4 core: ~40 elo improvement

For this release I found the source code of Ethereal and Arasan very helpful when working with improving the tuner. So a thank you to Andrew Grant and Jon Dart is in order. Apart from tuner improvements there are a number of other general code improvements, especially related to move ordering. The biggest contributors to the strength increase are probably due to move ordering improvements and improvements to search depth selection for Lazy SMP.

Finally I would also like to thank all the testers.

I just found a bug in the UCI commands I send to the GUI. The bug doesn't impact playing strength but GUIs may get confused. An updated version will come soon.

I have just done a second bug fix release, Marvin 3.3.2. This release fixes an issue where Marvin would sometimes fail to win in a
mate-in-x position.

Thanks to the user NajdorfB on GitHub for reporting the issue.

Ingen har testat senaste releasen än, men jag gissar på ~2960 med 4 kärnor.

Hi!
Theres another issue. Marvin dont read properly polyglots books. In five or six moves kept out of book when theres a lot of moves
availables.
Thanks for your engine
