The Last Survivor of AB engine, Stockfish! What position will Stockfish stand?

Post by Nay Lin Tun »

In CCC7, SF is the only AB engine that survived into final stage. Where will stockfish stand at the end of tournament? 24 games played so far in 600 scheduled games.

My guess is
1. Lco
2. Leelastein
3. Stockfish
4. Antifish

All I see is Leela times 3.
It's kinda sketchy that 3 basically the same engines are allowed like that.
If you add Brainfish, ASMfish, Thothfish with exchanging turned up and Sugar then the top 4 would probably be populated by AB engines again, but really it's just Stockfish with a different flavour times 4. Just like it's now Leela with a different flavour times 3.

And I think team Komodo shouldn't be allowed 2 participants either.

I guess SF will win,but I don't know the hardware

We have to know the hardware. If Lc0 plays on a RTX card. It will be very hard to beat. Unless Stockfish is playing on something better then 16 cores.

Hardware is the same as CCC6, I think.

4x RTX 2080ti (44 GB GPU memory).

2 x Intel Xeon Platinum 8168

Lc0 lost the last CCC with RTX cards. It depends on things like TC & openings.

Lc0 lost the last CCC and TCEC with RTX cards.

That is to be expected. I have tested the newer versions of Lc0. The older 3xxxx. I also had Lc0 weaker on that NN.

With the hardware specs you gave, and if Lc0 is using the best 4xxxx NN. Lc0 will most likely win.

2x Intel Xeon Platinum 8168 is no match for 4x RTX 2080ti

I vote Lc0.

haha - you might as well have McCain, asmfish, matefinder, Sugar and Sting plays as well. LOL ( just kidding btw, I would not be in favor in that) I do agree with your point that this is getting a little ridiculous - meaning that it looks more like how I run my tournaments in my basement LOL

Thanks for this info.
I checked the page and it seems all 7 games of Lc0 vs. SF10 were drawn except for this rare gem where Lc0 won with 2-knights against Queen.

Very nice game. Minimum tactics at openning but more on strategic outpost for both knights of Lc0.
Even at one point SF10 thinks it is ahead with its Q at -0.09

Is the GPU used there at CCC more powerful than the one available for lease at Amazon AWS?
(Amazon has 8x of Nvidia V100 Tesla 16GB GPU -don't know the lease price though)
While CCC data shows 64GB GPU.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/dlami/lates ... e/gpu.html

Game credit goest to CCC

I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.
