Queen trapped in the corner

Post by Nordlandia »

For the exchange white got a pawn and opposite-colored bishops. Also it's not clear how black will be able to release his queen from custody. Interesting position albeit stockfish display -1.23 advantage for black. The game is ongoing and can be followed live.

Interesting game. If your an optimist you could say the Queen is tying down 3 pieces.

Stockfish as black is able to win against Komodo and Komodo as black usually ends as draw.

Is the position winning for black or it is somehow possible for white to atleast play for draw. More often than not, opposite-colored bishops endings provide the side down material some hope for draw in the long run.

Do leela understand this type of positions?

Reminds me of the "Have you got Prince Albert in a can?" Joke. The moment when my mother told it to me, I went and called every drug store in town. Well, I was only seven.
