ChessBase questions

Post by noobpwnftw »

A few thoughts came across about playing in CB's engine room, I have a few questions(if this is a good place to ask):
- Is it possible to bridge the engine with InBetween(since the CB client is Windows only)?
- Does it properly handle engine options(i.e. Syzygy, local books)?
- Where does the hardware specs come from in case of using a bridge?
- What minimum subscription is needed to play games there, starter or premium, or something else?

I've been looking at this recently myself. At least for your 4th question people are claiming that if you create a new account here that you get 3 months for free of access to the Engine Room (but you might need a Fritz GUI to change "Playing Mode" to computer), but I haven't checked it yet.
Your beliefs create your reality, so be careful what you wish for.

Yes, indeed.

- It is possible to bridge, but Threads, Hash settings are messed up(due to it does not see the actual machine), so I hard-coded them in the engine.
- No, same as above, hard-coded it.
- It shows wrong hardware specs and no place to change it.
- I have created a new account and it does come with 3 months of free access. I still need to use a full GUI(not the one from free download) to use engines.
