Downloading old development builds of Stockfish?

Post by Ovyron »

http://abrok.eu/stockfish/ used to have them, but now this is the last page that works:

http://abrok.eu/stockfish/?page=16

The next one is empty:

http://abrok.eu/stockfish/?page=17

The last downloadable version is from Tue May 1 23:55:30 2018 +0200 with Timestamp: 1525211730

But the fact there's "next page >" at the bottom makes me believe this is unintentional, and perhaps the versions are still on the server but their download url is unknown.

Some of the older compiles are here:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://abr ... tockfish/*

It seems the original links are dead, though. Maybe all those old compiles were taking up too much disk space.

Thanks, it seems that old Stockfish dev compiles are indeed gone.

I have almost all of the compiles that were on the Abrok site, over 15,000 files dating back to 2012. Unfortunately, I have not organized them by commit, but at least I know the dates of the compiles. There were a number of duplicates compiles on the Abrok site over the years, which I have filtered out. I don't have the ability to pay for hosting, it would take forever to upload them somewhere, and I am not sure if I would have the permission to share them, but I would be happy to take the time to upload them if possible.

If you're going to do that I suggest a service like Dropbox, you install it and then you right click on a folder with the files you want to upload and sync it to your Dropbox account, and you'll be able to let people download them from there for free.

If you're thinking on providing a full archive for people to download them on one go, I suggest using a software like 7-Zip to compress the files first, you could be surprised at how good is it to make files small, specially if they're similar, so the entire archive would be much more manageable.

I can confirm that older executables aren't on the server anymore. For example, this is the original address for SF 2.3.1:

I have uploaded the Abrok Windows executables, from 2012 to 2018, with each year in a separate archive. I have removed duplicate files. I am still in the process of duplicate checking Linux executables and 2019 executables, and will have those uploaded soon. I also uploaded my archive of downloads from the UltimaIQ site.

I am missing most Abrok Linux executables from 2012. I am also missing Abrok Linux executables from 2013 up to 13030213. If anyone can help me fill that gap, or any gaps in my UltimaIQ collection, it would be most appreciated.

The files are archived here:

Thank you very much, I'm glad they weren't lost in the ether.
