JohnS wrote: Thu Aug 06, 2020 8:51 am How do you get the clocks to show for online games, thanks.
Do you mean getting clock info?
No I want to display the game clocks for online games to show how much time each player has left thanks.
Oh I see!

BSG displays the time left as usual, in its main clocks as the bellow image.

However, there is a bit tricky: if you select a non-time controller for your engine, say, set a fixed depth or a fixed node number, BSG won't show the time left since it thinks no-time involved. Otherwise, BSG will show time left as usual.

In the bellow image, Komodo is set to a fixed depth, games of its bot don't show time lefts. In contrast, Stockfish is set to auto - a normal timer, all its games display time lefts.
Strange, I dont see the clocks on fics, just the players names (windows 10)

Oops, so sorry, there was a bug (which I have replied to Ted's post few days ago), preventing BSG from displaying ICS clocks as well as being crash if it also logs in to a local network. That bug is fixed for the next release.

No problem, I thought it was just me, looking forward to the next version of a great program.

Banksia GUI getting better and better. Thanks for that!

There is one thing that I don't like and haven't found a setting to change it. Trying to describe...

In the "Playing games" window the two playing engines are written above the board. The upper of them is (probably) playing with white (so belongs to the lower part of the board) and the lower of them is playing with black (which belongs to the upper part of the board). Both engines are marked with their custom color (green or pink or whatever chosen in the engine settings) so from just looking at this window it is not very intuitive to know which engines plays which color.

Two possible solutions imo:
1. Write the engine playing white below the board or
2. Mark the engine with white/black instead of their custom colors (I must admit that I haven't understood the reason for these custom colors yet).

If you like my idea, feel free to implement :D

Regards, Andreas

Thanks a lot for your suggestion!

I will implement one solution for the next release, perhaps (2) since it is the easiest. We will see how good it is and may continue improving if needed :D

There is an option in Chessbase to display unplayed transpositions in a CTG book, but when you play engine against engine matches it seems like Fritz ignores these moves.
I want Fritz to play these unplayed transpositions to, if they are good moves.
If I make a tree from the same games in Aquarium, and I export
the tree to EPD format, and then I import this EPD file back to the same tree, and choose the option 'generate moves'. This tree also contains the moves that are displayed as unplayed transpositions in the CTG book.

I have made a video capture of it so you can see what I mean.

... sp=sharing

I would like to be able to include these unplayed transpositions automatically in 'opening lines' in Lucas Chess. Or some other way to convert to pgn with these unplayed transpositions included.

Maybe if there would be a way to include these unplayed transpositions in a polyglot book somehow. And then import all the best moves from the bin book to the opening lines.
Because I think it is useful information.
If I make a repertoire based on the games of Magnus Carlsen for exemple.
I can always delete variations I don't want, but it is more work to find good variations to add.

I hope someone can help me with this.

This is useful information for people how want to make repertoires, or even for people ho wants to make advanced opening books for engines.
The link for te video doesn't work, I hope this link works:
