Mate in 11 or not?

I found this position in a list which can be found in the old Winboard post (see below) about half way down the page. The position is part of a list of positions designate as part of a collection denoted by IQ.xxxx

I had it in my own list of positions as a mate in 11. Not sure how I arrived at that, but when I attempt to solve it using over 40 of some of the best engines on the CCRL 40/40 list, not one of them could resolve it as a mate in 11, given 30 minutes to crunch on it. My guess is that it is a mate in 13.

Any takers on trying to find the correct mate score? I'm going to run Chest 5.2 on it over night, but it could take some time.

Fire 7.1 was tried...

Fire quickly finds M11, but then changes it's mind to M12 and finally to M13 where it remains for at least 30 minutes. It is one of a few engines I tried that report mates "backwards" from how most engines do it. Most engines find longer mates first then reduce the mate score to the final solution over time. I'm not sure how Fire's search works, though. If that kind of search behavior has a name, I would like to know what it is!

I just started a M13 search using Chest. Not sure how long it will take, only getting 950K/sec on my hardware.
Should give us the correct answer.

On a side note, has anyone attempted to create a MCTS Solver solution to search for mates in chess?
I was thinking about it recently and thought the score from the solver could be a mate score rather than just a W/D/L indicator. The selection process would be directed down the path with the best mate value.

Just an idea.
