Interesting engine, improved about 270 ELO from Version 1.01. and is now easily compiled on MacOSX, too:
Code: Select all
drofa uci -330 2.0.0 https://github.com/justNo4b/Drofa
Code: Select all
drofa uci -600 1.0.1 https://github.com/justNo4b/Drofa

Re: New engine releases 2020
If my tests are right, it should be 2450 - 2500 elo at TC similar to the ccrl blitz ( see http://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic.p ... 57#p871857), so more like +400 elo in my testsOliverBr wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 5:28 pmInteresting engine, improved about 270 ELO from Version 1.01. and is now easily compiled on MacOSX, too:

ALthought i must admit Drofa perform significantly worse vs opponents with decent KingSafety.

Re: New engine releases 2020
I had both versions played hundreds to games against OliThink 5.9.0 which has virtually to none king safety. But a very fast time control (12 seconds for 40 moves).

Re: New engine releases 2020
Oh, one of my patches on the way to 2.0 really hurt in the move-based TCs if time is really low (~several seconds), but really improved play in all other TCs. I guess that the reason.

Re: New engine releases 2020
I think OliThink relatively excels vs. over programs (up to a certain strength) at very fast tc, due to its speed and (pruned) high depths.
I still have a match vs. Halogen_dev20201106 to report from a few days ago and it was nearly equal to it at 40s/40 over 200 games at least.
(may be it's also because my slow hardware favours it, but that's just speculation)
Just need to replay one game to have it done, because it also was a test for resuming tournaments/matches in Cutechess GUI dev.
Currently under my conditions and with long break time inbetween the first program doesn't start in time and one game needs to be repeated.

Re: New engine releases 2020
If you are interested:
I played two tournaments, one with very fast time control 40/12, the other with 40/30, there wasn't much difference actually:
40/12:
Code: Select all
# PLAYER : RATING ERROR POINTS PLAYED (%) W D L D(%) CFS(%)
1 OliThink 5.9.0 : 341 20 1749.0 2000 87.5 1627 244 129 12.2 100
2 Drofa 2.0.0 : 0 ---- 251.0 2000 12.6 129 244 1627 12.2 ---
White advantage = 24.04 +/- 10.45
Draw rate (equal opponents) = 21.10 % +/- 1.26
Code: Select all
# PLAYER : RATING ERROR POINTS PLAYED (%) W D L D(%) CFS(%)
1 OliThink 5.9.0 : 355 20 1764.0 2000 88.2 1640 248 112 12.4 100
2 Drofa 2.0.0 : 0 ---- 236.0 2000 11.8 112 248 1640 12.4 ---
White advantage = 30.37 +/- 10.69
Draw rate (equal opponents) = 22.57 % +/- 1.32
The white advantage is bigger on slower time controls, that was to be expected (less coincidence).

Very important SMP changes, for people running on moderate to very high core counts.Kieren Pearson wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:08 am New Halogen release

In my ultra-bullet-tests 8.1 looks 141 ELO stronger than 8:Kieren Pearson wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:08 am New Halogen release
