One of the children that I teach chess played f5 and does not understand why it is a bad move.

I told him that black will have a problem to castle short because of bishop c4 but he said that he wanted to castle long and attack the white king that is going to castle short.

I analyzed it by stockfish and stockfish suggest relatively fast the move d4 at depth 19.
For comparison houdini3 can find the move only after a deep search at depth 25.

At the human level I don't understand what's happening, is some human expected to find d4 on the board and follow Stockfish's line? If not, learning about d4 is useless.

As someone that has been beating much stronger opposition with the f5! idea, I'd tell the student about Na4! Which just destroys any black's ideas because black's dark Bishop is critical to the attack.

2 important lesson about this:

1. f5 is bad if you haven't played d6 so the light Bishop can recapture it in case of exf4.

2. You need the dark Bishop on this diagonal to perform the attack, so if white has played Nc3 then you should play a6 so the Bishop can move to a7 in case of Na4.

Only then f5's plan does work, and you can even play f4 to lock white's position (in the games where black has the advantage it doesn't need to castle.) Don't teach your students about a specific position, but general concepts that are useful in the kinds of positions they like to play.
