Don't waste money, 3800X is almost 200$ cheaper (Ryzens got a huge discount since Intel unveiled 10000 series 2 days ago) and more powerful for chess (unless you have liquid nitrogen cooling ;)).
For god sake, you can even buy 3900X for 100$ less than i9 9900K.

Does anyone on Talk chess have a liquid nitrogen setup? The only way I would buy this intel chip is if I hear feedback that its spectacular.

My linux (Ubuntu 18.04) box has one, let me know if you want any specific benchmark stuff. I usually run with 7 cores to leave one free for other activities. My only comparison is with an i7 7700HQ laptop...

Other than price, do you have any comments on it? Perhaps $$ is not an issue with some people.
