I will be starting a new tourney and just curious as to whether anyone would care to guess who will win of these programs:
asmfish 2017 11 19
Komodo 13.3 (Aggressive)
Honey x6
Critter 1.6a x 64
Komodo 14
Wasp 3.75
xiphos 0.6
Stockfish 11
Not sure which opening to use, maybe the Benko Gambit or Falkbeer Counter Gambit - any suggestions? Tourney would be either a 2 RR 15 or 20 minute/ea per game.
Just curious

Re: Just curious
There is a tournament group, just next door. It's called "Tournaments and Matches":
http://talkchess.com/forum3/viewforum.php?f=6
I guess one of the Stockfish programs will win (Asmfish, Honey, SF)
For openings, I suggest the two moves book of Kai, found in this thread:
http://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic.p ... 5&start=30
Direct link:

It's designed for firecracker chess, without a rolling sea of draws.
Personally, I would run an Orangutan tournament, but I would be the only person watching, so you may not be all that keen on it.

Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

1/2-1/2
with FEOBOS we created a ranking system to all of the 41.614 positions, 3 moves after ECO codes formed.
On place 1 the end position 21654!
FEOBOS PGN is sorted with the ranking system!
Very interesting position, have a reason why this position is on ranking place 1.
Shortly ...
10 engines checked with 1 minute and 10 Cores the endpositions.
After 10 engines analyses, 9 of 10 engines found an other best move. And all of the 9 different best moves are balanced. So with this position the biggest tree can be produced.
Thats sensational that we have a balanced position so many different good moves, 3 moves after ECO formend, are possible. This is the once position with 9 different best moves for the group of 10 engines.
If I have nothing to do and many time for chess ...
I used this position for smaller tourneys, or FEOBOS ranking place 2, 3, 4 ...
Wasp and Critter will have no chance in this group of engines.
If you like to see short games, you should Critter replace with Rypka in this group of engines.
Here the short game statistisc from the still running FCP Tourney-2020.
Many users are thinking I will play a small tourney with most aggressive engines and will have fun.
That is wrong, have a look how many games, engines like xiphos, Komodo, Stockfish lost fast.
Critter is only on place 30 in this group, Wasp is on place 19.
From the 6 short lost games from Wast are 5 vs. Stockfish, Komodo, Ethereal.
Stockfish is 350 Elo stronger as Wasp (for an example).
Best
