Yeah it should depend on the parameters you give to Leela, and may be these are improvable so there is some weigthen random.
I was wondering why maia team never talks about minimum/maximum hardware config.

Hi kinderchocolate,

the twitter critic is not relevant. The Maia team is working on a bigger/better opening book - of course with games of human players in the correct Elo-Range. So there will be a great variety in the opening lines.

Maia now plays with an opening book of moves played at its level... have fun playing all sorts of openings on @lichess!
lichess.org/maia1
lichess.org/maia5
lichess.org/maia9

Please try it - could you say if you play a human - or a computer?

Hi,

I am sure they will release everything - wait some days. The opening book integration is just a few hours old.

I am REALLY excited about this project! I am so curious what comes next?

Hope so for the books.

It's really interesting project indeed but i don't see any further objectives mor than refine the initial to have good sparring chess engine for human players. May be creating with all those nets a "Chess Tutor" that evolves with your level and that might focus on highlighting the blunders you've got to learn not doing to progress.

Hi,

go on their homepage: https://maiachess.com/
Its very informative. They write : „Maia is an ongoing research project. We are going to be releasing beta versions of learning tools, teaching aids, and experiments based on Maia (analyses of your games, personalized, puzzles, Turing tests, etc.).“

I am very interested in the: „PERSONALIZED PUZZLES“ and learning tools. :D

The project is very impressive, but... near undetectable online cheating comes next.

Hi,
frankly speaking I dont care about cheaters. I love chess. I want to play. I want to learn. I want to become better.
If somebody cheats - or not... its his business. I dont care - I am just not interested if somebody is a cheater or not.
I now for many peaple this is a BIG problem - but not for me. I couldnt care less.
