Although I make the SmallFish app, but I almost never used it personally. In fact, I don't even have my own app installed! The issue with a powerful chess engine on mobile phone is heating issues. iPhones get heated up very quickly even running on one core. Due to battery issues, I am using only my desktop for chess computation.

That statement says a lot coming from a respected developer. Most of the time (perhaps excluding the last year due to Covid), many of us need to get through the entire day without the battery wearing down. Chess analysis is not the priority for many of us.

Most certainly, most high end phones will see 800 to 1000k/nps with SF NNUE based engine, that would be around 30 to 40% of a recent single core CPU. Clearly less than 200 Elo difference.
I have a 180$ Chinese phone Xiaomi Redme Note 8 Pro with a mediocre CPU for current standards and I get 1565knps from a starting position with latest SF NNUE Droidfish. I'd expect most of high-end phones would actually be well over 2Mnps.
That would surprise me — are you using one thread/core as indicated? Please double check your settings. Using one thread with NNUE enabled.
What are you talking about? This whole thread is a full phone (whichever number of threads it has) vs a single core CPU. And the high-end phones (with usually 4 slow and 4 fast threads) are on par if not better than a single core of a high-end CPU.
There is absolutely no phone that can do 800knps on a single thread with SF-NNUE.
You always seem to have a nasty side in your comments . "what are you talking about " why always attack the poster? , Did I attack you even though it was you that was simply dead wrong? Cfish with NNUE gets over 900k/nps on Samsung Galaxy 20 FE. Single Core. Don't bother replying, I am permanently banning you from my read list.

Well The authority was Chestroid (blogspot) but the site owner got busy doing this or that and stopped doing the updates but did insist he would get back to it...but so far it has not been updated for a couple of years but as far as is known his archive downloads still work....he also had a very good rating list...I ran a few android tourneys and tried to get to it when possible but there are many new engines coming out every day and it takes a lot of time to run 50-100 engine RR phone or tablet tourneys with 5000-10000 games (even with a fast time control) I asked around for a android chess engine GUI (swiss system capable) so we could get some fast swiss system tourneys but none of the programmers were interested (so far). So you just get further and further behind...You can do a four or five engine RR test in a day or two but there are thousands of strong android engines and more every day... :)

There is no way to do a match on an iOS and not reliable on Android. I'd suggest we forget the cell phone rating list, and simply use the desktop ranking as a guide.

If AndrewGrant send me his latest Ethereal that is competing in TCEC https://tcec-chess.com/live.html I will test it for at least 20 games against Stockfish for Android using my Samsung Galaxy S20 versus my brother intel i9 9900k Desktop Computer. My email is capablancajose99@gmail.com

Sorry that I miss typed 8800K instead of 9900K, but this is the last time that I will match my Samsung S20 ondroid versus an intel i9 9900K, since my brother came from his vacation to pick up his Desktop, but for those of you who were wondering if the latest Samsung Android were good for chess specially for Analysing a game that you are watching lets say Carlsen vs anybody etc... with stockfish on your pocket you have a very strong chess engine which you do not need to go into your corner where you have your Desktop computer

NOTE: Also you can can use the Stockfish NNUE for Android, since Samsung S20 comes with a very good GPU https://www.anandtech.com/show/15603/th ... -devices/9
