Experience.bin for Shashchess

Post by Dann Corbit »

I analyzed 12,000 really important positions (the most commonly played positions), and 1000 useless ones (named openings that are rarely or never played).
Depth is generally in the 36 to 60 ply range, with the average probably somewhere around 40 plies.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Dann You should have a home page! I fear all you extensive analysis is lost/unused, when You only post results to forums.

I saw a utility to do that once, but it did not work on the files I tried because the format changed.
On the other hand, the format of the data is extremely simple so it should be really easy to write a tool to merge them.
My personal preference would be to simply keep the deepest data and overwrite the more shallow duplicates
