Movei00_8_403 and Movei00_8_418 in Chess960

Post by pichy »

First Result of Chess960 both using progress 10 10 10, Ray should test this version in his FRC Rating list. I believe it could be rated equal to Pharaon 351

PS: Dr. Wael please tell me now which side has a disadvantage, since both sides have a chance to play White and Black with the same starting position

In my tests 4 6 10 is better than 10 10 10 for 403

results are
50.5-49.5 for 4 6 10 at 400,000 nodes per move
54-46 for 4 6 10 at 5,000,000 nodes per move

These results prove nothing about sueriority of 4 6 10 and results may be thanks to luck but I decided that together with your results against different opponents I have enough evidence to decide that 4 6 10 is slightly better for 403 relative to 10 10 10.

Note that 4 6 10 was not tested at FRC so I do not know if it is really better at FRC relative to 10 10 10 but I see no reason to assume that things will be different at FRC relative to normal chess.

I decided to ask Ray to test 403 now for the following reasons:

1)I believe that 403 is a significant improvement relative to 383(more than 20 elo improvement)
2)I believe that newer versions are only slightly better(less than 20 elo improvement)
3)Even in case that they were significantly better I prefer first to know the rating of 403.

Note that I am not sure about 1 and 2 and I may be wrong.

I started testing Movei 403 progress 4 6 10 at Chess960 vs Pharaon 351 but I stoped the match after Pharaon won 5 games in a row, now I just started with Movei418 Progress 10 10 10 and the score is even so far

Engine Score Ph Mo

I do not think that this is off topic.
people have the right to discuss it.

I already sent him newer version of movei that is hopefully slightly stronger.

Hi Uri,
In fact I am joking because when we discussed with Tony once a beta version of RomiChess,we were beatin'up by Daniel because these things must be discussed by e-mail and not here according to him, which is a stuiped point of view to say the least....
