Deadline Extension Early registration WCCC

Deadline extension
Due to the short notice of the ICGA events, several potential participants are still trying to arrange their schedules to allow them to compete in Amsterdam. In view of this the ICGA is changing the early registration date to May 23rd. After this date a small penalty fee has to be paid. Entries recieved after June 1 have to pay the double fee.

May 23rd? That's about ... Tommorow? That's a rather .. Short notice.

Mods : Perhaps it would be a good idea to move this into the general subforum ASAP? Much more people should see it there.

Currently there are only 7 participants:

On may 21st it isannounced that the deadline will be extended to may 23rd. How incredible forthcoming, even graciously rooofl. Forgive me my cynism but hat this is a pretty short notice heads up for a pretty short deadline extension.
Well, this says a lot about the state fo the ICGA atm eh?

You are not understanding the message fully. Originally entrants had to pay double after May 21. That has now been shifted to Juny 1. So it is basically a 10-day extension, with an extra good deal for those acting immediately.

Aaaah well that clarifies a few things. Thank you HG and my excuse to Mark Winands. I was under the impression that an already "short" deadline has been extended a little bit on very short notice. Well, english not being my native tongue some things are difficult to understand.

This is just a guess but there is probably a few undecided participants that asked for a short extension before deciding. Which they apparently got.

It seems crafty and toga/fruit are some of the engines that made use of this extension. In the same team!

Gridchess registered with a team of 5: Kai Himstedt, Ulf Lorenz, Fabien Letouzey, Thomas Gaksch and Robert Hyatt.

I would prefer to see self-written programs playing at the WCCC :?

I think that if fruit and crafty do not participate and if all the people who are mentioned have no objection to the participation of GridChess then nothing should prevent the participation of GridChess.

I see no reason to prevent participation of programs that have many authors.
