Ninja Girl lives!

Post by Michael Sherwin »

Finally, I made some progress and have achived a new record result against Sabertooth Hamsters 0.2 of 67.5 out of 100 at 1+1 time control. And this is a huge jump for Ninja Girl at this time limit. The last record was 67 at 4+4. The changes are crude and rough as of now, but, after some tuning I expect to achive the desired goal of 70%. Just 2.5 points to go, even if it is one half point at a time! :D

I say bring back the purple rain or was it purple haze?    I am pretty sure that engine can score 80% against Hamstervilles.

PurpleRobe was a Toga clone by me to test an idea that I had. It was never meant for release. It was interesting that PurpleRobe scored over 90% against Glaurung 1.21! But, if I release PurpleRobe then I would have to release the source code and give the secret away before I had a chance to implement the new idea in my own program. :(

Edit: Email me your thoughts.

I forgot to mention that Thorsten has been running a tournament with NG4 and NG5 against some very tough competition in which NG5 has victories against a couple of different Fruit versions and ChessTiger as well. NG5 is ahead of Colossus2007c and a version of Now by a full point. NG5 has, sofar, 4.5 of 20 and NG4 has 1.0 of 19.

I wish to thank Thorsten publicly as his results pointed me in the right direction! :D

I thought that was our little secret, well it was obvious tho. You didnt change anything, so it looked and behaved like Toga except that it was a glaurung killer. As far as playing vs other engines, I say it did sub par compared to Toga.
