Hi all :-),

In our forum you will also find a report from our First CEGT Marathon Championship: Rybka 2.32a 4CPU - Zappa Mexico 4CPU in the Marathon time control 40/400! Heinz started this interesting experiment and got a lot of replies in the Rybka Forum too.

Does CEGT plan on resuming the 40/120 testing for 1 and 2 CPU engines?

Hi Norm,
here an outlook of Heinz from our forum:

The single and dual tournament time control list will be expanded during this periods when no new top quad engines will be released, what could be done quickly because two or more matches can be played on a quad for dual or singles. If I will be able to expand both list depends on how many engine versions will be released this year and how many could be skipped because of minor improvements only. In case of doubt and regarding the future the quad list will have priority.

But perhaps you will get an answer from him too.

Hi Norm :) ,

the current time schedule is to include Bright 0.2c and Deep Sjeng in the quad list what will last around six weeks.

After this it depends. If new versions for Naum, Rybka, Deep Fritz 11 etc. will be out this will be tested for the quad list.

If not there will be time and ressources to include for example Glaurung 2.0.1 and Bright in the dual core list. Maybe also Fritz 11. We shall see.

Hi,

Is the marathon Rybka 64-bit or 32-bit version? It appears to be 32-bit by its name.

[White "Zappa Mexico X64 v.2 4CPU"]
[Black "Rybka 2.3.2a mp 4CPU"]

Hi Norm :-),

it is the 64-bit version. I did not even download the 32-bit versions for Rybkas for some time already, because I do not own such OS anymore.

The engine names I am editing in Chess Base 9. In contrary to the CEGT 40/120 I forgot to include something like 64 in the name. Will do this with next update.

Note that Windows XP Pro x64 does allow the 32-bit Rybkas to run, and at the same speed as they would on 32-bit Windows (I have both OSs) :)

Hi Ernest :-),

yes, I know this.

For some time I had a multi-boot system for both OS, but some day I found that I practically do not need the 32-bit OS anymore for the applications I am running and changed to a mere 64-bit system.
