The Great 40/120 Tournament returns

Post by krazyken »

Well, with helping someone with the CCT and several engines updated, I got a bit waylaid. Cyrano is new to the Mac, and has finished quite strongly, just a little ahead of the Baron and Colossus, grabbing a half-point from Glaurung. Diablo finished middle of the pack, but not before getting a half point from Rybka, leaving nobody with a perfect score now.

10 engines complete, 1330 games (+ 348 extra games from older versions) means I am over 25% complete! Any bets on the final top 5? (not a safe bet as I may still throw in some engine updates.)

Current results:

Code: Select all

 1: Cyrano 0.6b17 95.5 / 142
 2: The Baron 2.23 94.0 / 142
 3: Colossus 2008b 92.0 / 142
 4: Deep Sjeng 1.6 79.5 / 142
 5: Diablo 0.5.1 73.5 / 142
 6: amundsen 0.75 71.5 / 142
 7: Beowulf v2.4 49.5 / 142
 8: Alf v1.09 44.5 / 142
 9: BikJump v2.01 (64-bit) 44.0 / 142

It's hard to go past the big names, but I'm not sure whether or not you're testing all the latest versions?

Cheers, Graham.

Those that I'm testing are on the list. As far as I know as of right now they are all up to date, except Amundsen. At this point, I'm not going to be adding new engines and I believe all the ones remaining are stable enough they won't be removed, but updates of ones already in there may happen until I hit 50%. The next 3 engines Eden, El Turco and EXchess will probably go relatively quickly.

Okay - my top five are Rybka, Thinker, Grapefruit, Shredder and Toga. :)

Eight threads on a Q6600 ???
Or you have a system for clustering your two boxes ?

Strange.

I think he is on a Mac: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_Pro#Specifications

Not the cheapest way to play chess on a 8 core box, but an elegant one

Yeah I keep all 8 cores in one box! And I guess I'm wrong, it's not a Q6600 but Xeon 5400. So hard to tell all these processors apart...

It must be Xeon, the Q6600 is not an option at all in this case ....

I do know that it is nice to be able to run up to 8 games simultaneously.
