That's why a plan involving c4 is to be preferred.Spock wrote:In contrast white seems more cramped, but it is early days.

Excellent, so far we have:
Rc1 - Andranik, Matthias
Be2 - Graham
a2-a3 - Gerold
d3 - Steve B
Many hours left for more votes, let's see what else comes up

Someone will have to break the tie.

About 10 hrs left for the vote
I think Gerold changed to d3, which if true would mean
Rc1 - Andranik, Matthias
Be2 - Graham
d3 - Steve B, Gerold

Can I join? I just can't sleep again so got some time to think!
I'm for Graham's plan 'Bishop to e2'

I like 6. Nd3 and think d3 is premature and unnecessary becauseSpock wrote:About 10 hrs left for the vote

6...Ne4 does nothing anyway. If 6...Bf5 which looks natural to me
then I would play 7. Be2 and later there is still the possibiltiy for Nh4
driving it away again. White has no weakness when we always
will control e5 forever(and have an eye on g7), which was the whole idea
of 1. b3 at least in my patzer opinion.
Caveat: backed up with not a single FRC chess game in my life at all :)
