We have one new chess program for PCs on this rating
list. The newcomer is Tord Romstads Glaurung 2.2 on Q6600
2,4 GHz. After 818 tournament games this 64-bit freeware
program run on 4 processors has a rating of 3007. Among the
strongest programs it takes place number seven, 225 points
after Deep Rybka 3.

The second entrant of this list is Pocket Fritz 3 Hiarcs 12.1
Ipaq 214 624 MHz. It´s rating is 2749, making it the strongest
non-PC entrant so far. The program author is Mark Uniacke.

At the moment SSDF is testing Chessmaster King 3.5 x64 MP Q6600
and three non-PC entrants.

Grand Prix of the Chess Engines: Here are the votes of the Swedish jury: Norway 12 points:)
No no...,I tried only a little joke. The SSDF list is not ranking by votes but by games. Everyone can replay and analyze them. Thank you for the new list and for your long tradition of non commercial test working.
I've got now my new testing project: Free Glaurung2.2x64 against free Thinker 5.4Dix64, free Rybka 2.2n2x64 and free Stockfish 1.4.x64. My hypothesis: Glaurung will not be the first:)

Oh, it's not so bad, I mean very good, excellent, thanks for the info. Where do you catch such news? Tord Romstad is a great author and great is his readiness to cooperate with highly skilled people who want to improve his creation. With Fritz 12, Shredder 12, Rybka 4 in the start holes the spring of the new engines falls in the fall of 2009:)

Thanks again for this first class link! Tord Romstad himself about the Stockfish project in the past and in the future. That's just about the limit:)
However, I must reconsider my new testing project. Watching Glaurung against Stockfish is altogether an incestuous behaviour.
