GM Larry Kaufman has accepted my challenge to play a QR odds game against the Novag Constellation 3.6 (Rated 1646 Elo)
Time Control will be 3 minutes per move
Pondering OFF for the Computer
each player must post a move within 24 Hours of the opponents move
Time Control is just a guide line and will not be strictly enforced

GM Kaufman will have White and will make various comments thorughout the game from time to time

all forum members are invited to post comments as well but please do not post engine analysis

I play 1e4, relying on the fact that there is no opening book for rook odds. This is a dubious opening move at knight odds (1...d5!) but quite okay for rook odds.

Connie will reply tomorrow
otherwise you will win this in 3-4 days
:P

BTW..i found a good method to keep the computer ON and still keep pondering OFF(thereby not having to turn the computer off and re-enter all of the moves )

after Connie makes her move ...i enter Position SETUP
the manual (which i linked to previously) mentions that once in SETUP all of the previous moves are erased from the computers memory but the position is retained
once i get your move in i exit SETUP ..enter you move and then let the computer make its move

i tested this for a few moves in my last game against the PC engine and it seems to work fine

4.b4. Evan's gambit may not be completely correct, but if it's good enough for Kasparov to beat Anand, it's surely worth playing in a rook odds game against a bookless opponent!

Interesting approach
Connie could well get caught in the intricate subtleties of the Gambit early on ..when the extra R makes no difference
obviously this not an approach that a PC engine would ever even consider

Hmmm Regards
