Agreed !
Also, Larry should seriously consider adding Syzygy TB support to Komodo !
I've found that Stockfish really shines when using it, even just the 3-4-5 ones !!!
As someone who has used Nalimov TBs with H3 for sometime, I can safely say that Nalimov TBs are NOTHING, compared to Syzygy !
Syzygy kicks in much earlier in my online games which really helps...saves a lot of time in demolishing my unfortunate opponents !
Yes, Syzygy TB support would be nice, but a learning file or permanent hash feature is just as important for a commercial engine to have.

Houdini and Rybka both have it, and there is the JBernstein version of Stockfish that has a p. hash file (a great implementation). Even Critter has a session file. Only Komodo is lacking in such features. Hopefully, the current authors will add these sooner rather than later, as it will make Komodo even more attractive and useful to potential buyers.

Hmm.... enabling Learning/permanent hash in H3 never really helped, at least in my online games, but that's just me, others may have different ideas !
But having Syzygy really really helps with Stockfish; Stockfish no doubt is a very good engine in its own right, but without Syzygy it seems to kinda flounder around and seems to lack direction....with Syzygy support it simply SHINES and becomes a very powerful and even more deadly, ruthless Engine, so to speak !
In fact, I may decide to buy H4 after all, if only because of its support for Syzygy TBs !

The JB Stockfish has a far better learning/hash file implementation than Houdini's. I hope that Komodo goes that same route. It is very useful for game analysis.

Nalimov TBs are becoming obsolete compared to the Syzygy....

I am yet to experience their potestial when I start to use them....

Don started work on Syzygy but stopped when he concluded that he would not be able to complete it due to his declining health. If Mark concludes that he can implement it without an undue amount of time and effort I expect he will do so. Not for this release though.

Where does one find the JB version of stockfish? I have tried the Syzygy TB version only.

Many thanks.

So there are 3 flavours. Stockfish , Stockfish Syzygy and Stockfish Learning. With various combinations of other TBs thrown in to make it even more confusing =)
