Carlsen did Not amazed me at all, since he had a hard time beating a 44 years Ex Champion, that 15 years back would had made Carlsen pay in game 6 and beated the best player of all time in his youth Gary Kasparov. Anand will be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time just like Kasparov!
We cannot check what could happen 15 years back and anand also did mistakes at that time(at least 19 years ago when he played against kasparov).

He lost a game against kasparov because a tactical mistake when he fell into a trap when he had a reason to suspect that there was a trap because the second option is that kasparov simply blundered.

I am also not sure that the time control was not slower many years ago.

In 1995 Carlsen was just learning how to move the pieces! The good news is that in India there are several kids that in 10 years or so will be after Carlsen chess title!

At least Anand tried, today. There's no shame losing this game, as he had no choice but to take risks. Not trying harder in the previous game, in the other hand, was more condamnable. I think Anand played stronger in this match than last year. He clearly improved his game against Carlsen.

It's a shame they didn't play a 24 games match. Still, Anand played real chess, shown a couple of interesting ideas and made Carlsen fight for his title, unlike last year. What I say doesn't matter much, but I would like to have a way to thank him for that. And it's good for Carlsen that he met more resistance than he expected. This is what makes a champion a champion.

You have to give Carlsen a lot of credit for punishing Anand after the exchange sac. He had to play "only" moves with little time on the clock and there were a few moments where he could have bailed out and gone for a draw. But he didn't do that and went for the strongest and best move and finished in amazing style. I think that very few GM's would have been able to come up with the Nh5!! plan when you consider how critical that game was and that was maybe the only winning plan ... but that needed perfect calculation to the nth degree. Anand probably did not see that and if it wasn't for Nh5! I think we could have been all raving about how much guts and imagination Anand had rather than criticize his reckless play. In the end, Carlsen just looked like a much stronger player and the only game he lost was mostly due to excellent opening preparation by Anand. In general the level of play was quite strong and although there were some mistakes (humans will always be susceptible to mistakes) the quality of play considering the pressure and match situation was remarkable.
