I am sorry Graham, you are one of my favourite engines testers, but I really dont understand/see the point of this type of tournament. Who,except maybe programmers, cares about engines like for example,Pawny? Does it have any chance of getting near top 10 or something like that?
I know we who closely watch your tounaments can really be boring, but please consider what I am writing about. Why wouldnt you, instead of these pointless tournaments, run a tournament with like top 16 engines or so every once in a while, where every tournament will have only one opening and 2 or 4 games played between engines. That way,we could calculate something like ELO ratings.
I apologize again for being boring, but I believe this way it will be better.

I am interested in running more than just the top 16 engines, which is why I run these tournaments. Also it is a way of giving something back to the computer chess community.
Remember that many top engines start from small beginnings.
Occasionally I run my Super Tournaments (1CPU and 4CPU) with the top engines, as well as the occasional 8CPU tournament.
Even now, I am running matches and gauntlets involving top engines. See the list in the CCRL update report.
Of course! Is a very good service to the community, a big help and a big motivation for the developers. Also the ratings are a lot more than top engines. Just thank you again
