Best way to test Prodeo in tournament comp vs comp?

Post by Howard E »

couple of questions ...

do I run in winboard mode or uci?
also, I tried Arena 5.1 but in a 40 game match it never completes as often the engines do not load all the time so many games show losss on time after 1 move (these I run prodeo as winboard.

Am i missing some way to make the Arena 5.1 more stable?

ty in advance

You could of course use an intrinsically reliable GUI instead. If the problem is with the engines there is not much the GUI could do about it, though.

Arena -> Engine Tournament -> Start/Quit -> Additional delay during engine start phase (seconds, if needed)

Thanks for the replys ...

I made sure to add delay for reloading engines was set.
But still no luck.

But then I switched to Prodeo uci version and it seemed to remain solid.

Also it could be my win 10 or even my virus software. or the who knows really.
