Stockfish 130518 vs McBrain - TCEC Season 12 Prelude

Post by MikeB »

This version of Stockfish will be very close to the version which will in TCEC Season 12 Premier Division which is about 1 week away. And of course McBrain( an unreleased version labeled v9.4 here) is based on Stockfish tuned ( supposedly and hopefully ) for longer games. This will be a 126 game set based on 63 positions hand selected from Kai's openings picked for being unbalanced than most openings in the set , but not too unbalance.

Time control here is 15 a minute base with a 30 second increment per move, using one core with 1Gb hash and pondering off. Twelve games are played concurrently on a 12 real core Mac Pro.

Current dev-Stockfish is about 20 Elo stronger than SF-v9, so hopefully, the games are entertaining for most.

It will take about 20 hours to complete the set, the results and pgn file will be updated every 4 games ( until you get the near end and then the last 12 games or so will be posted all at once). Figure on updates just about every 90 minutes or so, some will be quicker, others will be longer. All games are played to the bitter end as there is no adjudication used here.

I would not look for any updates until about 2 hours have elapsed since this post (or around 1 AM EDST, 5/14/18).
