Chess Engine Olympiad. Denmark.

CHESS ENGINE OLYMPIAD. EDITION II

The tournament consists of two phases: the first consists of qualifying tournaments of each country, where the four best engines are classified directly for the team of your country. Depending on the number of engines participating and the final number of participating countries, there may be some "B" or "C" teams from some countries, so that up to 12 engines could be classified in some countries.

The qualification tournaments will start in alphabetical order of each country, running three tournaments each time, until they finish all.

Once all these qualifying tournaments are finished, the second phase will start, a Swiss system tournament with 6 rounds probably (it will depend on the number of teams)

Software/Rules

GUI : Arena (3.51)
Time control: Adapted to 40/40 CCRL (benchmark).
Ponder: off
Threads : 1
Default hash=256Mb
Endgame tablebases: Syzygy - Nalimov - Scorpio Bitbases - Gaviota. Hash set to 64Mb.
Resign is set to -5 for 3 consecutive moves where able.
All engines will use the same opening book limited to an 8 move depth.
Engines

Open to all Winboard and UCI engines (free, private and commercial).
Engine authors can either post their wish for their engine to participate or contact through email (sergiomg24@hotmail.com) or private message. I will choose engines by myself too.
More than one engine by author is allowed.
In case of having more than one author of different country by engine, I will assign the country (team) in which they must play by choice of their authors. If there are no preferences of its authors, I will assign the engine to the country with the fewest engines.
Updates will not be allowed during each tournament (before qualifying tournaments start and before main swiss tournament starts).
The similarity tool will be used to determine whether or not an engine can participate (Engines allowed until 70% of moves match).
Results will be rated only for engines already in the CCRL lists.

Deadline: March 12

Start: March 13

Round Robin tournament (x2)

You can follow the tournament live here:

I am starting to use chessgui, and using the fantastic application of ferdy (ai bloodshed) I want to start broadcasting (little by little I will adapt it to the web) the CEO tournaments. I hope everything works fine. All suggestions and advice are welcome.

Thank you

Looks fantastic Sergio! :)

I might have to get your help in setting up ai bloodshed, as it has always looked difficult for a technical simpleton like me.

I would much prefer to use a web based server to broadcast my events.
Can you have more than one broadcast running simultaneously?

Thank you very much Graham :)

I think yes, editing the scripts might be, I havent investigated yet.

I am still trying to understand chessgui, at the moment I like it a lot, but I have to dedicate time.

I would also like to adjust bloodshed to my website, but maybe it's too for me,

step by step ...

Thank you very much Tom :)

I'm learning. What I see is that it is necessary to reload the page in the browser after each game because if you do not do it the game appears as if it had not finished when another has already started.

I have to study this a little ...
