I will not forget.
I'm sorry that you feel that way, Ed. :(
What is the issue with my using ProDeo in my tournaments?
I told you in email, didn't I ?
If 2.8 is buggy, I don't mind using a different version. Just let me know the last one which one isn't buggy.
I told you more than that [ viewtopic.php?p=731875#p731875 ].

Strength development stopped after version 2.2 about 3 years ago by now. Versions 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9 are only about new features. Small exception for 2.8 which is still the same 2.2 engine only with some stylish parameter changes, no code changes since 2016. The engine is dead for 3 years, don't use it any longer.

I have seen it go from division 3 to 4, 4 to 5 and now 6. What's the point? You are hurting my fragile ego.
90% of coding is debugging, the other 10% is writing bugs.

Thanks Ed.

As one of the criteria for my Amateur Series is that the latest version must be less than two years old, I can exclude ProDeo based on what you've said.

You have absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about. You are one of the pillars of the computer chess community and I'm sure that most enthusiasts are very appreciative of everything that you've done (and continue to do).

Engine strength isn't everything.

Cheers,
Graham.
