Yes I know. I'll add this later. Next week maybe, I'm focusing at TCEC now.
Thanks for starting to add analysis mode now in Minic!

I let run Minic 0.79 on that Quazar game again with feeding the pgn in forward analysis until move 24 Black
(which is one or two moves further than your previous analysis):

[d]1br1r1k1/1p1b1pp1/2n4p/1N1p2q1/4n3/PN2P1P1/1B2BP1P/1QRR2K1 w - - 1 25

The good thing first:
1. forward analysis works now :) (almost)

2. after 10 minutes it still was stuck with depth 24 display from 1:54? (taskmanager said still at full 1cpu)
may be some unsound pruning while in check and king shelter destroyed or triggered some rep code in depth 16-18,
which followed the game moves until Kh3?
3. it still does not see in move 25 that its position is already quite bad
4. backward analysis does not work yet (or mixed forward/backward analysis)

Thank a lot for testing it so quickly !

Using 1024Mo of TT here, the same thing ocured at depth 25 when Minic starts to see that things are going wrong. Window search is always failing and restarted again with a little bigger window, it takes 1min or so each time and growing ...

Depending of the TT size you are using this may take some time ... and be worst and worst as Minic is seeing the position is losing. This is something I need to address, because it is even preventing Minic to see deep mates like ion Shirov position

I'll check backward analysis next but I'm not sure what it is ...   and how xboard handle it. :?

Thanks also for the quick reply!

I guess this should be asked at the Programmers forum.
I can only say that the program should be able to start a new search for each position, if the user moves forward/backward
in the current game in analysis mode. HGM or others, should know the implementation details for the xboard protocol.

Currently Minic gets out of sync, if one move backwards in the game.

Hi Vincent!

I hope to start soon, in fact my idea is Edition IX starts after these last three CEO tournaments (Philippines, Norway and Netherlands) :)

Thank you
