Interesting game featuring a very casual and positional exchange sacrifice as well as a dancing knight. Towards the end black is basically in zugzwang and starts dropping material in desperation.

Deuterium has been sacrificing material to get active rooks and strong passers.

Yes, that was a fantastic game by Deuterium! I think the sacrifice was 100% correct, but Deuterium didn't find the optimal way to proceed, so SF starts to prefer black, but in the end Winter was the first to slip up. Was a fantastic fight and well deserved point that may decide the tournament!

In general Deuterium's aggressiveness has impressed me a lot. In a field filled with engines that give me more of a positional vibe, eg: Marvin, Scorpio and Winter, it is definitely a nice change of pace.

Congratulations to both Ferdy (Deuterium) and Jonathan (Winter) for sharing top spot.
Both engines will promote to Division 3 for the next series. :)

It was fantastic seeing many of the engine authors (and others) in the broadcast and chat.

Thanks for the event Graham! Was a really great struggle at the top and some other engines were really looking good. SlowChess and Scorpio looked especially good when things were going well and Minic won against a lot of the first half of the field in the last round robin, including one of the winners!
