E8400 CHESS ENGINE PERMANENT LADDER
Posted: Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:04 am
Hello folks,
Here is a copy of my computer chess tournament files. I usually post it in mz chess forum, but his site is down, so for now i'll postg it here. Hopefully they will find a way into this forum.
The tour is carried out in a very old desktop, HP with Intel E8400, Dual Two Core, (circa 2006). IT runs at 3.15 GHZ, 4 GB RAM, 5 pieces Syzygy tablebase. For the opening, i chose a compilation of all ECO lines. In total it contains about 1,200 lines from 4 to 12 moves.
These games are a very long time control. The shortest games are 90 min 30 seconds increment,so typically this processor goes well into the upper 30 plies per move. At the most common TC (90'59'')this computer touches the lower 40 plies, sometimes before the 8th move, so these moves tend to be quite strong.
There are closee to 800 engines on this tour, mostly compiles from stockfish team. I attempt to keep up with every version they create, including their early experimntal prototypes. My goal is to have every version play at least 30 games, all starting with 3200 as entry Elo. The better a particular engine performs, elo wise, the more it stays active.
The naming convention for these engines consists of initials SF,(stockfish), SFT (stockfish test version), followed by the date in format YYMMDD, then followed by the commit number to 7 digits(commit numbers assigned by github page where their source code resides). For sometime I compiled a few of them with Visual Studio, but I stopped that sometime in August 2019, after restoring my mingw compiler: it produces executables that run with twice or more speed of same compiled in visual studio.
You will also find those compiled as stockfish developmental versions(abrok), with the name as stockfish, date format (ddmmyy),and unix time stamp.
Best used of this game? It is probably for "bookmaking", althought some say the games are also quite interesting from a pure analysis perspective. To each its own, I would add.
Have lots of fun.
