Yeah, probably that was proven when I guaranteed I could draw 1.g4 against anyone but failed in my first attempt. But at least it's very easy to shoot down Komodo 11's evals to below -1.20, and I'd be surprised if Komodo 13 does much better.

That was quite an accusatory first post!

Komodo 13.2, depth 28: -0.89 Ng5.
I'm now seeing -0.85 at depth 42 (perhaps for a move other than Ng5, I'm not providing move info). As I mentioned, Komodo believes 13...h5 was a significant error. Eval for its first choice was -1.15, but h5 wasn't even top three. It will be interesting to see how Komodo's evals trend, but a Black win seems pretty much out the window already---at least according to Komodo.

What was the difference in eval between the first and third choice? That's all we strictly have as a lower bound on the "error" (according to Komodo), because the -0.85 is at a different depth and different root position.

It'd certainly be worrying if mmt comes back with a draw offer!

SF-01-28 gives a different move from the start all the way to depth 60. It gives Ng5 as the third best move.

Komodo's top three choices for Black's 13th move (none of which was h5) had evals of -1.15, -1.07 and -0.94.
I rarely use Komodo, but I do like the "stability" of its evaluations, compared to Stockfish. Of course, stability of bad evaluations won't help.
Will be fun to see what happens as the game unfolds.
Also wondering what Stockfish thought about 13...h5. Top choice? Blunder?

I don't know if the players have set rules for kibitzing this game. Not sure posting info about the
current position is desired.

Well, after what happened in the first game with it even having to go private and all I had thought about putting strict kibitzing rules, but at the level this game is being played I don't think it'd make a difference.
There's a move I expect mmt to play here, but I'd be very happy if he didn't play it, and more so if he went for Ng5.

I've only been posting Komodo's first choice because it's at such low depths (27-29) that it should not influence anyone (and if I wait for a move to be played, I will have forgotten what Komodo's choice was).

Does Komodo have a default contempt setting? (Some of the evals I posted have been with White to move, others with Black to move.)

SF10 at depth 29 gives first choice 13...h6 (-1.45).
