FCP Qualify Tourney-2021: 6.560 games 20+5 to play on Intel i9-10900k ... young stars!

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

I completed my tournament configuration!
For me a lot of new engines participate!

Young stars will be fight vs. old stars!
I added some tactical monster's, like Spark, Hakkapeliitta, Hiarcs, Junior and others!

Wasp 4.00 is playing out of competition (of course with Wasp, tournament is running under the flag of Wasp site).
From 3 Rodent versions only one can be qualified, if place 01-09. I respect here wishes from TalkChess members.
First 9 of 41 Engines are qualified for FCP Tourney-2021. Have a look in news 01-03 on detail page.

Step by Step:

Tournament start:
December 01st, 2020, 00:30

Tournament-table (will be updated 1-2 times daily):
https://www.amateurschach.de/ftptrigger ... -2021.html

8 games per match & each one against each other (41 engines)
= 6.560 games to play = 320 games per engine
= 6.560 games : 280 games per day, ~23,5 days runtime, final results at Christmas!

Engine updates are possible until November 30th, 2020 (official engine updates only).

Detail page to FCP Qualify Tourney-2021 and later the FCP Tourney-2021
http://www.amateurschach.de/main/_fcp-tourney-2021.htm

On the detail page you can find the conditions, the games, news around the tourney and a replay-zone. After the tourney I think we will make some stats from game material (not during the FCP Qualify Tourney-2021).

Note for programmers:
I am working the last days on a _NEW_ "Engine-Configuration" site.
Programmers can check the own engine configuration "online" or can send wishes for special settings.
Can be interesting for users (to check the configuration from unknown engines for "try-out-and-play").

Engine-Configuration:

PS:
For the moment I have work with the last 6 rounds from the still running FCP Tourney-2020.
So I am happy that I can closed the organization for the FCP Qualify Tourney-2021.
Sorry for all the changes I made in the last weeks and discussion in an other thread!

Seems like we released Koivisto 4.0 just in time. Thanks for including it in your tournament :)

thank you!
I will get an alert message by mail if one of the participate engines updated and can add the new version before tournament start (December 01st, 2020). If your team find anything ...

Good luck for Koivisto!
A very interesting development you and the other two programmers do here.

Nice gift for computer chess freaks like Qui-Sin-Sky.

Opening book changed!

I added the opening book files with a readme and settings on the detail page (News-04). Download link can be found on my new "Engine -Configuration" site also. I am still working on the "Engine-Configuration" site. Only the configuration for the FCP Qualify Tourney-2021 are ready.

Hi there,

I have to change the configuration daily.
But this will make the tournament more and more interesting.

- Engine 42 added ... Gaviota 1.0

I will see Gaviota after a long time again.
Miguel Ballicora is a person I missed here in TalkChess a lot.
I hope all is OK with him!!

- Engine 43 added ... Orion 0.7 NN (after all the messages around Orion).
- Cheng4 changed from version 0.39 to 0.40 dev. (thanks to Günter Simon for the compile).

Nice news around Cheng4!
I like the program a lot and a new version after a long time is available!

Hi there,

1. Engine 44 added:
Seer 1.2 NNUE Skylake x64

2. Elo average for the tournament is: 2840 Elo (later for Shredder tournament table).
Anchor to Protector 1.9.0 with 2940 Elo (after the tourney for Ordo Elo calculation).

Now 7.568 games to play (8 rounds) = 8x43 games = 344 games per engines.
Runtime for 7.568 games x 40 minutes per game on 10 cores (without ponder) = ~27 days.

Later ...

Hi there,

1. Updated: Seer 1.2.1
2. Updated: Marvin 4.0.1
3. I will replaced ProDeo 3.0 with the older Protector 1.9.0 (in the next minutes). So Ed's program can play the Qualify Tourney. Honestly, I have enough games played with Protector 1.9.0.

Hi there,

updated:
- Stash from versoin 23 to 24.
- Wasp from version 4.00 to 4.08 dev

added:
- Scorpio 3.0.10 ... without NNUE but with egbb, NNUE isn't possible with Shredder GUI or WB2uci adapter for Shredder GUI !!
- Lc0 0.26.3 ... not sure how strong the CPU version is !!

So I think I should added Scorpio and Lc0 not directly in the main tourney.

Now 46 engines added for the qualification, 11 can be qualified for the main tourney.
Wasp 4.08 out of competition and from three Rodent version can be qualified max. one (the best if place 01-11).
30 engines seeded for the main tourney ... the FCP Tourney-2021.

8,280 games to play, need around 29,5 days, 360 games per engines (8 rounds).

Important:
- the new engine-configuration page is now completly ready, for minutes I added the last information to Scorpio.
- yesterday I made a configuration for a new FTP client ... so the *.html tournament table, the *.sto result file and if running the *.pgn file will be updated each 2 minutes during the tournament is still running.

For the moment the link to the tournament table:
http://www.amateurschach.de/fling/fcp-q ... -2021.html

For the moment the link tot he result *.sto file:
http://www.amateurschach.de/fling/fcp-q ... y-2021.sto

And the link to the URL's to engine programmers:
http://www.amateurschach.de/main/_engines.htm

And the link to the new Engine-Configuration site:
http://www.amateurschach.de/main/_configuration.htm

Engine updates are possible undo November 30th, 2020.
During the tourney no updates possible.

A lot of changes, all is a lot of work in testing and configuration ... sorry!
Never I organiced such a big tourney in two parts with 73 different engines from 29 countrys with so many details. But I have a lot of fun to do this.
My sorry for all the changes!

Best
Frank

PS:
I will create a short 1. h3 speed test for each of the participate programmers.
The *.txt file will be available Sunday or Monday next week.

December 01st, 2020 ... 00:30 ... the tourney "Part 1" will start.

If I have problems with one of the 46 engines, I made enough other configurations for replacing!
But I think all will run fine!

Hi there,

in around 4 1/2 hours the FCP Qualify Tourney-2021 will be start:

Last changes:

1.
Time control switched from "20 minutes game + 5 seconds move" to "40 moves in 12 minutes repeatedly"
The Winboard compatible engines in the field, with WB2uci adapter, lost to many time with "Fischer +5".
Totaly forgotten, I must switch the time control

2.
Beef 0.3.6 replaced with Protector 1.9.0
After my stability test the engine lost to many games on time. With both time controls (point 1).

3.
Tournament runs in live mode, I wrote it before!
- the *.html tournament-table
- the *.sto result file
- the *.pgn file
- and new ... the games goes directly in my replay-zone.

Each two minutes the files will be uploaded.
You can download the *.pgn or can replay the games directly on my site or start very easy the following url:

Link to Replay-Zone:

5.
Little opening book changes, the opening book I am using can be found with the *.pgn and all tournament settings here:

Hi there,

the tourney is now still running.
Good luck for the participant programmers and for my wife!
She told me that most interesting are "pirarucu" results ... OK, why not!

The day will come we have the same opinion.

So, go "pirarucu" go ...

:-)
