Oh okay. Contempt = 0 would be better against SF dev. I guess Chessbase decided to change it 24 to beat up on weaker opponents :D
My understanding is that contempt has no effect on it with NNUE enabled. I merely switched back because I got asked a lot about it, and figured this would just quiet that question. :-)
Albert, sorry to bother you but I just purchased Fat Fritz 2. I have no experience with Fritz 17 interface. Is there somewhere I can go for advice? A video or question and answer board?

I like to play two computers against each other. Program A on one versus B on the other and using a PGN opening file for the start position. So far Fat Fritz 2 only runs using Easy Game. Is that for all chess playing regardless of difficulty? Or can Enter and Analyze be used or is that just for deep analysis only. If so I don't see where I can load a PGN file in Easy Game.

Thanks in advance. My last experience was with Fritz 8 so it's been a long time.
I should probably do a video explaining this, but for a quick reply here:

1) Enter the program using Classic Menu (Enter and Analyze is the same)
2) At the top go to Engine
3) Select Engine Match or Tournament
4) In the match or tournament setup, on the left will be the option 'Database'. Choose it. Locate the PGN you want to use, and very important: put a check in "Use".

The other options should be fairly self-explanatory.
OK thanks. I got as far as loading in the PGN database but when it's Fat Fritz's turn to move I hear a sound like a car engine trying to start. I assume it means there is something wrong with the loading of the engine for the game. And yet when I click on analyze (blue square next to engine name) the engine starts and shows me the 3 top moves it's considering.

Do I have to be connected to the internet in order to use Fat Fritz 2? I've already activated the engine. Do I need to go to Chessbase to register it too?

I guess today's engines nothing compared to how they were 10 years ago. Check your portfolio if i'm right Graham 😃
