Dynamic chess

Post by Kempelen »

Hello,

What are good techniques to make an engine more dynamic in his play? I have tried tunning material vs eval score but I always arrive to a point where the engine loss elo withous much success. do you know of other tricks?

also, for curiosity, what are the engines with most dynamic play? I am curious to see same games...

regards

IMHO dynamic means unsound. A human player succeeds in dynamic style only against much weaker opponent.

I highly doubt this would stop your from losing ELO, but the best idea I know of is asymmetrical evaluation. Gives your evaluations weights, such that you could care more about your pawn structure than your opponent. Or maybe you want to play more aggressive so you increase the value of your rooks being on open files around the enemy king.

Either option would, in my mind, probably result in a loss of ELO. But it may give you the dynamic feel you are looking for.
