On-line engine blitz tourney July (retry)

Post by hgm »

Now that the ICS has been made immune to crashing of the timeseal decoder, a retry of the monthly on-line engine blitz tourney for July will take place on:

Saturday August 11, 3pm Boston time (21:00 Amsterdam time)

To connect:

winboard -zp -ics -icshost winboard.nl -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

(for UCI engines, add -fUCI)

Nice!, I'll be there and inform Bart (Goldbar) as well. Also I'll let LeelaZero (LC0 with the latest network) run on my 5960X/GTX-1080ti.

See you all on Saturday.

winboard.nl tournaments and Arena

Post by MOBMAT »

I had forgotten about it, but Arena has support for ISC.

I just tested logging in to winboard.nl using Arena and it connected me OK.
Does/has anyone used Arena rather than winboard?
if so, can you pass along any suggestions as to how Arena should be configured to insure a smooth experience?

I think people that tried it had problems with automatic starting of a next round. But I never tried it myself.

Seems that almost all the engines currently logged on have their tournament flag set, so can't accept any challenges.

That is no doubt a leftover from the previous tournament being abruptly abandoned.

But you can still challenge them if you also set your own tournament flag:

set tourney 1

Skipper is only in it for the money. It asks 6.95 Euro per hour. So we need a tournament sponsor.
Also tuning engines cost a lot of electricity.

I haven't finished my eBook "Slippers 60 memorable games".
