Hej!
Also: I don't think DGT is going to make boards with LED's in them. They will never be used in tournaments. You'd need 61 or even 81 LED's, and they will make the board more expensive and thicker.
I think you're right. Anyway: the Centaur (not meant for tournaments) isn't that thick and has this ingenouisé light-scheme (magical harry pottner glowing ring), which I fancy more than leds. For my taste it's also less distracting.

Price: well yes. DGT is leading here technology-wise and omnipresent/visuable for everyone during official events. Quality is spot on. Monopol...
Doesn't take away the fact that I still feel I want one of those 36x36 Certabo boards. They'd be great when travelling.
Yesyes!. A board which can sit on your knees! No cabelage! No wired devices to go 'wireless' (chesslink...).

New kids are on the block:

http://www.chessnutech.com/
Status: Vaporware (?) from a company (which?) run by whom from where (HK)? Doable for 99$ early bird/200$ later?
(if the device gets ever made, this would be a no-brainer for me...)

Status: 4000 backers, a million bucks, L. Aronian on board; anything more (potential) but beeing a blinky toy?

But there's movement!

Greetings

Thank you very much for the detailed and very appreciated infos. On online DGT shop I have seen that the prices are 413€ (wooden) and 232€ (plastic) ...really not espensives for their quality, but I cannot buy them now.
