The issue might be that h4 is another strong move here, and engines might focus on it, missing Ba3...

You'll have to see quite far ahead with the engine, to be able to solve this position. A human can do it mostly on intuition, but a chess engine has to look at all the possible moves of the two queens, which is a huge amount of stuff to search. Thus, for simple engines, that limits depth, and therefore the discovery of Ba3.
