but the Diablo finds Rxf6+...in "only " 19 minutes and 46 seconds and 7 ply ..not 25 minutes

the only difference between the two computers is the housing with the Diablo in rich wood

i guess this is just another example of why wood is ALWAYS best

If the timings are that different, either the change is with the software or hardware.

It very well could be either or even both. Something is different, regardless of the housing.

There are differences between the Excel Mach III Master and the Designer Mach III Master, both in plastic btw.

Test them and you'll see I'm right.

Timings are different in many cases. The Excel Mach III Master was poorly made and designed, and that is why I swapped the Excel Mach III with Fidelity Electronics for the Designer Mach III after going through two Excel Mach III lemons after a lot of wrangling and discussion with Fidelity Electronics, who btw never openly conceded that I was right, but caved under pressure. Of course I was right and Fidelity Electronics knew it, but couldn't come out and say I was right, as that would have put them in a bigger bind.

perhaps but i think what happened here is far less technical then all of that


when i set up a position i stare at the computer the entire time until the intended move is shown....here i think Rob the Master Puzzler probably set up the position on the Scorpio then after about 10-15 minutes and not yet seeing the correct move ,and after a long hard day of position solving..dozed off and when he awoke..25 minutes had elapsed and the move in the Scorpio's display was the intended Rxf6
