Best,

Fair enough! My apologies to you too.

Having read all the posts in this thread it seems to me that many actually demonstrate its title- with the question mark omitted.

Putting aside the mere bickering on every page, if you look at page 3 you will see 10 posts. In the case of 7 of them I cannot see what possible useful purpose they serve.

P.S. I was not commenting on your contributions, Graham. :)

:D Yes, great cover! It reminds me of some simple fact; it's summer, many stays outside or is on holliday, lot of us gets lazy if it's hot etc etc.
The silence is "everywhere" on the net - at least where I come (hope that's not the reason).

So, in general I see no more crisis here, than the common periodical ones ;)

That is until you realise that Soapbox Opera is the theme tune of moderation in here.......then things become quite clear......

=========================

I hear, only what I want to hear
But, I have to believe in something
Have to believe in just one thing
I said Father Washington, you're all mixed up
Collecting sinners in an old tin cup
Well, spare a listen for a restless fool
There's something missing when I need your rules

Well hey there, You tell me you're a holy man
But, although I'm just a beginner
I don't see you as a winner
I said, Sister Robinson, you're all washed up
Collecting teardrops in a paper cup
If I could tell you what you need to know
If I could help you to get on with the show

Reverend Ebenezer, there's a storm in my head
Makes me hear what you said, just was it true?
So, what have I to do?
Well, what has he to do?
Oh, what is there to do?
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Mary, oh tell me what I'm living for
'Cause I feel like I'm tossed in the river
Have you a son to deliver
I said, Father Washington, you're all mixed up
Collecting sinners in an old tin cup
You tell the children what they need to know
But will they listen when it's time to go

Oh, Sister Robinson, you're all wound up
Collecting teardrops in a paper cup
Can someone tell me what I need to know
Can someone help me to get on with the show

==================================

That just about sums it up....

Not really. Could you please sum up your summing up? My lyric interpretation is neither what it was nor was ever as good as yours.

The song is dreary, but never mind that. Quoting lyrics at people reminds me of those who trade biblical quotations with, what they imagine is, some finality - anything to stop short of a logical argument.
