Hi Daniel,

It is a good idea. But I think I could win that by releasing a new version every week with a 5 elo point improvement than the last version. :)

Maybe you should add a minimum elo improvement to add 20 points. Maybe 20 elo points would do. :)

By the way, I have not seen any updates to the engine testing in the superchessengine web page anymore.

You are right Edsel

at least 20-30 elo improvement between each release :D:D

For the New Release I will try to update every 2 weeks ...

Will try a new system to update without spending too much time on it :D

Engine testing is back and on 8 cpu this time . Just update your old pages on superchessengine.com :D

I put recently Zappa Mexico Gauntlets, Naum 2.2 SMP, Strelka , and will post New UCI engines released in September

Best

Tony, lay off of the booze!

My formula for calculating the strength of a chess program is ELO/IQ. By that formula, RomiChess's strength is almost infinite!

I guess that's better than undefined! 8-)

Hi Zach,

I wonder what's the name of your engine. Don't tell me it's Toga SMP. :)

Thanks. Well, I've already added pretty much complete support for Xboard/Winboard protover 2, so easy of implementation isn't an issue. I chose Xboard because I like the philosophy that a chess engine is a chess player. A chess player chooses his own opening moves, how he evaluates positions, and how many brain cells he wants to use. Sloppy's code is highly modular though (eg. the Xboard protocol has its own module), so adding UCI support shouldn't be a difficult task.

You can still use your own book in UCI mode, but I think learning will be hard as it doesn't have the result command.

It is possible that two protocols can be supported in one executable, this way, you can have the best of both protocols.

Sure, all we need is a lot of booze.

I'm planning to add UCI support. It's not a high-priority update though.
