Congratulations on being able to catch up with Pro Deo and Chess Tiger in such a short period of time. I know that back 2 years ago you never thought of your program reaching the same level of play of Pro Deo and Chess Tiger.
PS: Hope that in another year movei will be one of the strongest 6 commecial programs available.

Why do you want movei to go commercial? I like it as is, free. Movei was never much weaker than Prodeo, and I doubt that Movei has caught up with Chess Tiger. Results of one tournament proves hardly anything.

Correct to say the least....Tony Thomas wrote:Why do you want movei to go commercial? I like it as is, free. Movei was never much weaker than Prodeo, and I doubt that Movei has caught up with Chess Tiger. Results of one tournament proves hardly anything.

Movei may be better than tiger at long time control
CCRL 40/40
http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/4040.l ... t_all.html
Chess Tiger 2007 2795 +16 −16 42.5% +51.1 40.0% 1359
51.9%
Chess Tiger 2007.1 2794 +14 −14 43.2% +45.5 41.5% 1601
Movei 00.8.438 (10 10 10) 2766 +42 −42 48.9% +4.8 33.7% 181
Movei 00.8.438 2750 +21 −20 53.1% −20.1 38.3% 772
CCRL 40/4
http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404.li ... t_all.html
Chess Tiger 2007.1 2817 +12 −12 47.6% +16.9 37.4% 2339
49.3%
Chess Tiger 2007 2801 +9 −9 44.9% +37.3 33.8% 4416
Movei 00.8.438(10 10 10) 2731 +17 −17 49.8% +2.1 32.2% 1210
Movei 00.8.438 2700 +25 −25 42.8% +48.6 29.2% 571
You can see that the gap at 40/40 is smaller than the gap at 40/4 and it is logical to suspect that movei starts to be better than tiger at longer time control.
40/40 with ponder on in WBEC is longer time control than 40/40 ponder off of CCRL.

Hi Uri,
How can I implement the "10 10 10" setting with version 8_438? I do not have any docs.
Btw, the number of games at wbec is much smaller than the number of games at ccrl.

if you're using a Chessbase GUI, the three progress settings will be in the engine parameters that you can load, change and save.
In the Shredder and Arena GUIs, once the engine is loaded, right click on the engine name in the bottom pane. Then you can set the parameters.
You will need to "create a new engine" by doing this in the Shredder GUI.
